Description:

Join us for a short hike under the evening sky and learn about the many nocturnal animals that call Blanco State Park home.

Explore the park in the softness of the evening. As the sun sets over the river, watch and feel the park transform. The wings in the sky change from birds to bats and the daytime sounds of bird calls, splashing swimmers, and sounds from day visiting families are replaced with the soft sound of scurrying and calls of the nocturnals.

We will discuss the animals that live in the park at night, including our bats.  We will see spider eyes shining like jewels, and, if we are lucky, we’ll see scorpions glow, and hear a great-horned owl call. Most of all, we will enjoy the park under the October night sky.

This short hike of approximately. .08 miles is on a mostly level trail and road surface.
