Description:

Learn about the different ways to volunteer and get involved at our Park.

Inks Lake State Park, in collaboration with the Friends of Inks Lake State Park, is pleased to announce its inaugural Volunteer Fair. This event aims to welcome those who have considered contributing their time but have been unsure of how to get started. Join us at Inks Lake State Park on July 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

This is an excellent opportunity to engage! Park volunteers and staff will host an afternoon of training for new volunteers from the local community. Opportunities for both children and adults will include trail maintenance, educational programs featuring authentic animal specimens, paddling excursions, special events, invasive species management, supervision of the Bird Blind, fundraising initiatives, and more!

This program welcomes individuals of all interests and backgrounds—be they hunters, anglers, kayakers, hikers, bird enthusiasts, or local residents eager to delve into the park's geological formations, local and migratory bird species, or aquatic life. There exists a meaningful role for everyone interested in volunteering at Inks Lake State Park!

This event is free and will primarily take place in a comfortable indoor setting, with occasional outdoor excursions for practical training.

Join us in becoming a valued volunteer alongside a dedicated and knowledgeable community of conservation-minded individuals. The Friends of Inks Lake will provide snacks and refreshments—just bring yourself!

To confirm your attendance of this training day, kindly reach out to us via email at friendsofinks@yahoo.com or by phone at 910-494-9634. Your response will help us ensure adequate preparations for the event.

Inks Lake State Park is affectionately known as the "Gem of the Texas Hill Country," and we invite you to join us in preserving its natural beauty and vitality.
