Description:

Experience Lockhart State Park as an outdoor classroom in this program for school-age kids! Registration required.

Lockhart State Park’s homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades 1-5. Classes are usually held on the 2nd week of every month, and you can choose between Tuesday at 10am, Wednesday at 2pm, or Thursday at 10am. The topic for each month will be unique, so don’t miss out!

January's topic is Fish! Join us to learn about the residents of Clear Fork Creek, and try your hand at fishing to meet them up close!

Prepare: Dress for the weather (sturdy shoes and layers recommended) and bring water. This class is rain or shine.  All fishing supplies will be provided.

Meet: In the picnic area of the park. Please arrive early to give yourself time to check into park HQ prior to meeting at the picnic area. If driving from park HQ, pass the pool and take your first right-hand turn into the picnic area parking lot.

Fees: The class is free with entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
