Join a Park Ranger as we search for the amphibians that call Lockhart home!
Lots of amphibians call Lockhart home, and Spring is the best time to see them! Join a Park Ranger for a brief discussion about the amphibians of Lockhart State Park, followed by a short hike to look for them. You never know, we may see snakes, bats or other nighttime critters on our hike as well! There are a limited number of people allowed on the hike, and registration is required. Please call the Park HQ at 512-398-3479 to sign up. When you come to the hike: meet at Park HQ. It will probably be hot and humid, so please bring water. We will be hiking after dark, so please bring enough flashlights for everyone in your group. There may be ants, scorpions, or other biting insects, so please wear close-toed shoes (no flipflops or sandals).
