Description:

Learn the basics to birding and identify some of the birds that live in the Lost Pines!

Learn the basics of birding like how to use binoculars correctly, what identification books are useful, what birding apps are out there and what they do, and how you can make your backyard more bird friendly. Then take a half mile or slightly longer hike to find some birds that call Bastrop home!

Meet at the picnic table and benches behind the Historic Golf Shelter at Bastrop State Park.

Bring bottled water and your binoculars, wear closed toe shoes!

We will have a few extra binoculars to borrow during the program on a first come first serve basis.

Program is free after park entrance fees are paid. Park entrance fees are $5 per adult, children 12 and under are free.
