Learn the basics of night sky viewing with various types of equipment!
The night sky is a beautiful wonder! Full of planets, stars & other natural phenomena.
We'll discuss best practices for using telescopes, how to navigate the stars, & where to look during different seasons! Feel free to bring your own equipment. (telescopes, binoculars, cameras, etc).
Location Day-use Picnic Area.
Entrance fees: $8/adult; children 12 and under are free; no additional fees for this event. Entry is free with an active Texas State Parks Pass.
All programs are weather dependent -- if it rains, the Summit Trail and all elevated trails and areas of the park are closed. Also, if it's cloudy -- stars will not be visible.
IMPORTANT: Reservations are required to enter the State Natural Area Friday through Monday, on holidays and/or during school breaks. You can check day pass availability online at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com.
